In the twilight of the mysterious Mayan Kingdom, a young warrior known as Jaguar Paw has been captured and taken to the great Mayan city, where he faces a harrowing end. Driven by the power of his love for his wife and son, he makes an escape to rescue them and ultimately save his way of life. Who has seen this? I saw it for the first time last night on Blu Ray and thought it was really good! Some parts in it are truly brutal lol and the story as a whole is cool.

It might be one of those films you either love or hate though i guess....

I think it's an ok film, but I think it's stupid that it's made in a language about 6 people in the world can understand.

They could have at least made it in a language thats around now though and in that part of the world, spanish or portugese for example. English wouldn't have been too bad though, Gladiator is in English and is fucking awesome

I liked the little "twist" at the end since the setting/ events n everything lead you (well me anyway) to believe that this was an ancient civilization......

It's not the fact that it's in a foreign language that annoys me, it's the fact that it's in a dead language. I thought I made that clear by saying they could have made it in Spanish or Portugese, or some other existent language.
I don't expect foreign film makers to make films in English but Apocolypto was an American (North and South) production, so surely making it in English, Spanish or Portugese makes more sense, rather than Ancient Mayan or w/e it is actually called.

I'd be less annoyed, that's what difference it would make. But I still think this film could have been made in English and it wouldn't have lost anything.

I think the whole reason behind using the Mayan language is down to the fact it just makes everything so much more authentic lol. Its also original I guess since I dont know any other films set in that era or setting which use Mayan Language
