im off to NYC at about 4am on thursday morning! im going for 4 days with college and i was wondering if any of you guys had been before?

anything i should look out for/do specifically, as i will get lots of free time apparently ^^

New York is a sick place man, its so busy and just has the best atmosphere 4 us young ones. Also has the good old Sunny Morning Feeling with a glass of O.J and a Bagel! lol

i went back in 1999. i would recommend one of those boat tours, (only if u want to sieght see round the island.) The best boat tours are on the west side of the island, (if u dont know wat side that is, imagine the island on birdseye view and its on the lest side facing south.) does that make sense? lol

Obviously go up the Empire State, even if it may be expensive it's worth it.

Best time to go the Central park is when it's hot, as the amount of trees cover the ground, it's cool and fresh.

If it is very hot, dont spend the time in the streets, go to Central. Though it's up 2 u.

Ground Zero is another one, if u want to be depressed. :(

:D Times square at night is the best!!!!! go in the day too, but its amazing at night. Also, go up the Empire State at night, i went at 11pm and it's just like.....well......its like so calm and tranquil as u stand on the city that sleeps. llol

and my college is paying for my visit up the empire state building, but we're going up straight after we get our bags put in our hotel room

I flew to Florida like 3 weeks after 9/11 ... Didn't have a problem.. security was so strict.. actully never felt safer flying.

It's still the same, flew from London last year.. even make you take your shoes off now and they go through xray machine, it's all good.

In-flight meals are still utter shit though.

lol tho yh when ur going 2 USA, make sure u know how much your taking. If you only have a Debit Card you cannot check your balance overseas, u can only withdraw money. So if u dont know how much u have b4 u leave, then its hard times

i went to NYC with 6th form for 5 days, was awesome.

1. Order small mcdonalds, anything else you physically cannot fit in your stomach(cz of how teeny u are :p)
2. Take a map if you go in macy's, its fucking massive and confusing.
3. Beware of taxi's, they stop for no one.
4. People will mock you for your accent, you can either mock them back or choose to take the higher ground and say nothing but inwardly think "fuck off you fat ignorant american cunt"

tis all i can think of, if you get the chance(dunno what your itinary is) go on a helicopter ride round NYC.

Also if your going up the empire state, which lets be honest you must do, try and do it at night time. I went up at night and its one of the most amazing things i've ever seen.

Times Square is also fuckin amazing at night, bubba gumps shrimp restaurant is pretty nice. The virgin store is actually huge, if i remember rightly its like 5 floors. The footlocker(think it was that) contains like every single type of shoe/trainer ever made lol.

Dunno if quicksilvers your thing but they have a massive store on times square of that aswell.

theres no point in drinking anywhere in america except for 2 places, Miami and Las Vegas. Miami cz of the absolutely savage clubs that are supposedly there, and Las Vegas because in casino's you get free beer( and fags hehe).

Drinking is extremely expensive in america, you certainly can't do what people do over here and go out,get smashed and blunder out onto the streets shoutin and screamin, cz if you get caught by the police its a $2000 fine.
