Right, so i've been getting into this lots lately! Its a brilliant sport too, good excerise, not to expensive (compared to paintball) and it really gets the heart going when your stuck 1 on one against a P90 noob!

I've been buying loads of kit lately, so once its all together im gunna post it all up so you can have a look. Airsofting would be a great idea for BsE meets btw.

Anyone else intrested in this? If you have some pics of your kit post it up!:w00t:

its completely different from paintball, the only similarity is that you shoot people lol.

Airsoft are proper replica weapons, and equipment, and if you go to a decnt site you play proper senarios, not just "capture the flag" and TDM which is all paintball is.

One game we had to set out to retrive an artillary peice, and then return it to the hill we started off at to fire it at houses (empty farm buildings) below. And yes it did actually fire pyros! or would have if we got it to the hill.

Most of the games we play, there are certain spawn points that change depending on how the battle is changing, or a designated medic can come and "revive" you

Its much more tatical, more relalistic, and a hell of a lot more fun that paintball. You dont have to wear a full face mask either, so no steaming up goggles or face masks! and it means headshots hurt more!

According to ebay the total i have spent is £234.73. Some of the things i still had left over from when i was in the army cadets. I could have spent less moeny than this, but i wanted top quality kit, and i wanted a full metal gun, whats the point having a plastic one, flimsy and dont look replica. I should be getting the grenade launcher next week sometime, and the other 5 magazines, so one i've got it attached ill post it up!

nearest airsoft place in nottingham? Also Do you have to go with a set amount of people?

Mazman
03-21-2009, 09:31 PM
What happens when you get shot then? You have to wave your gun in the air and stroll off to the safety area like in paintball? Or can you basically soldier on until you can't take any more pain?

RAGEMAN
03-21-2009, 09:33 PM
I like the idea of no armour and the one who can hack the most pain wins.

I went Paintballing last week. It's basically shooting randomly and adjusting your aim according to where your last bullet went. It's great fun though, and hurts a bit. My cousins and I bought a M24 Airsoft rifle with a scope and a few shit guns, we always mess about with them, building makeshift bases and such.

Maz - it depends what game you are playing. In a normal rambo skirmish when you get hit you have to shout "HIT" and raise your hand, you then walk to the nearest alive player and count to ten loudly to revive yourself and then you can play aain. Thats called a life in the field, and normaly you get two of those, then you have to go back to the respawn point, which changes depending on how far the attackers/defenders have moved.

Scenario games, there are designated medics, when you get hit you shout "HIT" and lay on the floor(Dead), and all your aloud to say then is "MEDIC" or use hand signals to communicate with other alive people. If a medic gets to you he has to stop firing and count to ten, medics and other lvie players are aloud to drag dead players out of fire. If a medic can't get to you, then you have to go back to the very first spawn.

Rageman - Nottingham is not a bad placeto be for airsoft! Theres only a few sites around me near cambridge which are less than an hour away, more than that is a bit of a treck at 7 in the morning lol.

You can turn up on your own, or two or three mates like i normally do, and lots of other people do that so you end up ith a group of around 60ish, the most ive had was around 80, and the teams get split in two. Below is a map of all the UKARA registerd sites in the UK.
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2964/airsoftmap3zzz1.gif

I didn't buy my gun of a website because you have to have a UKARA license to buy an imitation firearm. Someone at the site i go to who had a license baught it for me and upgraded it all and then sold it to me for a little bit extra, getting in with the right people helps ;) UKARA is a lot of piss arsing about just to buy an airsoft gun, Link below is to their website if you wana read how to get one, because its to much to post up lol.

http://www.ukara.org.uk/

To be honest the guns your looking at are most likely not very good, as they are so cheap, for a decent powerfull airgun your looking at £130 plus for one. Also those multi-tone guns look gay! G36 series are really good guns for the price, Wether you get G3, G36K or G36C. Also DO NOT BUY FROM THE UK!!! The guns are SOOOOOO overpriced because their not manufactured in the UK, so your not just paying for the gun, your paying for all of their duty tax's, import tax's, profit mark up and all that other stuff. Buy from America or China. Or if you go to your local airsoft site, they will more than likely have a big range of guns that they have got in from USA/Chine tax free because there UKARA registerd sites. So you can pick up great guns for around 160-200 (L96 Sniper, M16, M4, Spaz12, P90, AK47, MP5 etc)

been interested in this for a while and i want to get into it since summer is coming up. i live near nottingham so we could all meet up if you want. i plan on going regulaly so i can become a UKARA member and buy weapons without the stupid colours on them.

then i can buy this: http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=TMCHRMDE
and this (and customise the shit out of it): http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=M4A1TM2006

but yea, im very interested and im looking for people to go with. i love modern day combat and firearms (more like an obsession really), so ill feel right at home with this.

web tex ftw flix! I dont know why everyone laughs at it, because they do great bits of kit. I could have got a VIper vest that was a fiver more and litrally the same vest just with a diffrent logo :S pointless.

GTA DO NOT BUY FROM WOLF ARMOURIES!! seriouslyyyyy, what a rip off site, if you do buy them then look into some American or Asian sites. http://www.socomtactical.net/ is quite a good UK site ith good prices, but limited range

flixy
03-22-2009, 11:54 PM
web tex is poorly made gucci kit for walts/the like

if you are into airsofting (which i am not) then army surplus is your best bet

you get what you pay for..

Cowley
03-22-2009, 11:58 PM
It's not poorly made, just not made to military standards. Im using it for airsoft games, not service in Iraq lol. Plus they should cost a lot more than 40, i jsut got a bargain on ebay lol! Im sure i paid around the 70-90 mark for the same modle when i was in cadets. The holster inside the vest is proper shiyte though i give you that lol!

Cowley
03-23-2009, 12:36 PM
Claymores are the tits!! The first time i went some bloke on my team had one. Every round we played as defence he placed it down basically on the objective, and when he went back to it at the end of the round it was always empty, so he doesnt know who he killed lol! 20m range seems like a lot but its not, so te remote is pretty limited unless your really gunna camp lol.

Look at videos of them on you tube, it doesnt look like they hurt to much tbh.
